WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) today welcomed Commissioners Karen Sessions and Brien Lorenze, restoring the Commission's quorum and positioning CPSC to build on its record of enforcement, modernization and consumer protection. Commissioner Sessions was sworn in on August 19, 2026, and Commissioner Lorenze was sworn in on September 8, 2026.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1973 and charged with protecting the American public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction.
