SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Replit, the agentic software creation platform used by builders in 85% of the Fortune 500 companies, today announced the expansion of its government business and the appointment of former U.S. Treasury diplomat and Amazon Web Services (AWS) executive Michael Greenwald as President of Corporate Affairs.

This builds on Replit's enterprise business, which has been growing over the last 12 months.  Companies like Atlassian, Adobe, Visa and Databricks, among others, use Replit. Once Replit is used by a single department within an enterprise, the company sees its business double after six months and expand to 400% over 12 months.

Replit is seeing strong adoption of its platform across government agencies at the national, state and local levels in the U.S. and overseas, including the Middle East. Gartner projects that by 2028, at least 80% of governments will deploy AI agents to automate routine decisions.  Replit, which pioneered agents in 2024, is seen as a solution that allows employees to build and scale applications rapidly and securely.

To accelerate its expansion into the public sector, Replit has tapped Michael Greenwald to be President of Corporate Affairs. Greenwald brings more than two decades of experience across technology, finance, business and national security.

At AWS, he served as Director of Global Executive Relations, helping lead Amazon's international business expansion and driving adoption of the company's AI offerings by governments and institutions worldwide. Previously, he was Managing Director at AlTi Global and spent nearly a decade at the U.S. Treasury Department in senior policy and intelligence roles across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As the first U.S. Treasury attaché to Qatar and Kuwait, he established the Treasury's first offices in those nations and served as the principal senior U.S. financial diplomat to their banking sectors.

"We're seeing more enterprises use Replit across their teams to securely and rapidly build and deploy apps, and now governments are doing the same," said Amjad Masad, co-founder and CEO of Replit. "Michael has led at the highest levels of global public sector technology and national security, and that combination will help us bring this capability to more people and industries, unlocking innovation and economic opportunity on a global scale."

"Replit empowers every American, and every global citizen, to be the architect of their own future," said Greenwald. "I'm energized to join Replit because its mission is at the core of the American dream. Together, we can put this technology, built on a foundation of trust, safety, and security, to work for U.S. and global competitiveness."

Jordan's Ministry of Education and National Council for Future Technology used Replit to develop Siraj, an AI learning assistant that now reaches 1.3 million users across 5,800 schools. Replit is also working with HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia's national AI company, to make Saudi Arabia the first country to put AI coding agents in the hands of every student. And last month, Replit opened its first international office in London with the support of Mayor Sadiq Khan.
