The process begins with preparation, the most critical phase of any concrete coating. Every slab is different, so the team starts with moisture testing and a full surface evaluation during the free consultation. Mechanical grinding is then used to open the concrete and create the ideal surface profile for bonding. Large propane grinders with diamond wheels handle open areas, while hand grinders reach edges and corners. All equipment is connected to HEPA-filtered vacuums to minimize airborne dust.

Next comes concrete reconstruction. Midwest weather often leaves slabs with cracks, pits, and spalling. These areas are repaired using a fast-curing polyurea mender. Cracks are opened with a V-blade grinder, filled, and smoothed once cured. Pitted and damaged areas are cleaned, filled, and leveled. Because the repair material cures in minutes, the team can move efficiently while still achieving a smooth surface.

Once repairs are complete, a pure polyurea basecoat is applied. Vertical areas such as curbing and stairs are coated first, followed by the main floor. The basecoat is mixed in small batches and applied evenly to create a strong foundation for the system.

The selected color chip blend is then broadcast by hand across the entire surface. This full coverage creates consistent color, added texture, and slip resistance. After curing, all loose chips are scraped in multiple directions to achieve a uniform texture, then vacuumed clean.

The final step is a polyaspartic clear coat. This UV-stable, nonporous topcoat resists chemicals, moisture, salt, oil, and grease. It is carefully applied and backrolled for a smooth finish, allowing the floor to be ready for light foot traffic and full use shortly after curing. The result is a durable, long-lasting floor installed with precision and care.
