GenesisL1 Opens Its Scientific Blockchain to AI Agents with GL1X, an Open-Source Explorer and On-Chain Bioinformatics Laboratory

PR Newswire

To the developers' knowledge, the only blockchain explorer combining on-chain scientific data, wide-ranging bioinformatics tools and an MCP server for AI agents

SHERIDAN, Wyo., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GenesisL1, the Layer 1 blockchain for decentralized science, today presented GL1X, its open-source explorer and on-chain bioinformatics laboratory, live at gl1x.com.

GL1X.com serves researchers in the browser and AI agents through the Model Context Protocol. Assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT connect to https://gl1x.com/mcp without a key and reach 87 read-only tools across the GenesisL1 ledger and a scientific suite: BLAST-compatible sequence search, structure search across 1.56 million protein chains, binding-site and pH analysis, proteomics, PubMed search and datasets for on-chain AI models. Other explorers offer MCP servers for ledger data; GL1X adds the chain's scientific records and the tools to analyse them.

On Oct. 20, GL1X indexed 1,035,581 molecular records and had analysed 998,926 structures, identifying 4.18 million pockets and 3.68 million ligand instances. The archive includes structures central to peptide and ageing research, such as the GLP-1 receptor with semaglutide and tirzepatide.

GL1X also makes the L1 coin transparent. L1 pays for transactions and computation, secures the network through staking, weights governance votes and funds public goods through a community pool. On Oct. 20, 52.6% of all L1 was bonded through 37 active validators, and the community pool held 5.56 million L1. AI agents can query these flows from the chain.

GL1X publishes its calibration against reference tools, proves record sequences from on-chain and IPFS data, and is released under the MIT License.

Gl1x.com delivers BLAST, protein pocket and interface overviews, structural, sequence, and motif searches, pH environment analysis, protein digestion and peptide mapping, sequence alignments and annotations, spectra and PSM analysis, virtual 2D gel simulations, and many other gold-standard bioinformatic tools backed by blockchain provenance.

"Science needs infrastructure that people and machines can both trust," said Mikhail Fedorov, MD, founder of GenesisL1. "With GL1X, a researcher and an AI agent can start from the same on-chain molecular record, follow it to the literature and check every step."
