Founded in 2006, Beverly Hills Bed celebrates two decades in online mattress retail, including 17 years offering adjustable air mattresses and unique adjustable bed sizes
Scottsdale, AZ (PRUnderground) October 2nd, 2026
Beverly Hills Bed is marking its 20th anniversary in 2026, celebrating two decades of selling mattresses, adjustable beds and specialty sleep products online.
Founded in 2006, Beverly Hills Bed entered online mattress retail years before buying a mattress or adjustable bed over the internet became commonplace. Over the past two decades, the company has watched the category evolve from relatively simple electric adjustable bases to today's systems featuring independent positioning, massage, lumbar support, pillow tilt, wallhugger designs, smartphone controls and voice-control capabilities.
Adjustable Air Mattresses Since 2009
Adjustable air mattresses have also been an important part of the company's history. Beverly Hills Bed began selling adjustable air beds in 2009, giving customers another way to personalize mattress comfort.
Today's adjustable air mattresses are considerably more advanced than many earlier designs. Beverly Hills Bed currently offers 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch models featuring independently adjustable air chambers for couples, separate wireless remotes and 50 firmness settings on each side.
Select designs also incorporate the air pumps within the mattress system rather than requiring separate pump units to sit on the bedroom floor.
The combination of an adjustable air mattress with an adjustable base gives sleepers two independent types of customization: the firmness of the mattress and the position of the bed.
Adjustable Beds Have Changed Dramatically in 20 Years
When Beverly Hills Bed began selling online, adjustable beds were primarily associated with basic head and foot elevation. The category has since expanded considerably.
Depending on the model, today's adjustable bases can include Zero Gravity positioning, anti-snore presets, massage, under-bed lighting, programmable positions, lumbar support, pillow tilt, wallhugger technology, USB charging, smartphone apps and voice controls.
Size choices have expanded as well.
In addition to traditional Queen and King configurations, Beverly Hills Bed specializes in less-common adjustable bed sizes such as Split Queen and Split California King. A Split Queen uses two 30-by-80-inch mattresses and adjustable bases to create the dimensions of a standard 60-by-80-inch Queen while allowing each sleeper to control their side independently.
More Ways for Couples to Personalize Their Bed
One of the biggest changes during the company's 20 years has been the move toward individualized comfort for couples.
Rather than requiring two people to agree on a single mattress feel and sleeping position, split adjustable beds can provide independent positioning on each side. When combined with a dual-chamber adjustable air mattress, couples can also select different firmness levels.
Beverly Hills Bed has expanded its assortment over the years to include adjustable air mattresses, memory foam, hybrid and customizable latex mattresses, along with adjustable bases offering different combinations of positioning and comfort technology.
The company also offers adjustable air mattresses for RVs, bringing independent firmness control to RV-specific mattress sizes.
Looking Ahead
As Beverly Hills Bed enters its third decade, the company expects personalization to remain an important part of adjustable sleep products.
The technology has changed substantially since 2006, but the underlying idea remains simple: giving people more control over how their bed feels and how they position themselves for sleep, reading or relaxing.
Beverly Hills Bed operates as an online retailer and ships adjustable beds, mattresses and related sleep products throughout the contiguous United States.
