ACR Poker Sets November 4 for Network-Wide ScreenShield Default

ACR Poker players will see ScreenShield switched on by default from November 4, giving every player an added layer of table-capture protection without requiring an opt-in request.

When ScreenShield is enabled, players continue to see and play their poker tables normally, while protected table content is blocked from the screen-capture and screen-sharing methods covered by the technology. The feature is visible in the client and has its own page in Settings.

The default setting does not remove player control. ACR Poker players who deliberately need screen capture for streaming, recording, coaching or content creation can turn ScreenShield off themselves inside the client.

Winning Poker Network is also evaluating a broader policy that could prohibit third-party software from being used alongside the poker client. No final policy has been adopted. The network is reviewing whether tighter restrictions could further reduce security and Game Integrity risks while preserving legitimate player use cases where possible.

The rollout follows WPN's investigation into concerns involving remote-access software. Its Game Integrity team reviewed more than 2,000,000 hands from players whose devices had MeshAgent detected and found no evidence that any player in that review was using hole-card knowledge on WPN.

That total included approximately 200,000 hands played by Paul Gregg, whose activity had drawn attention from members of the high-stakes community. WPN found no evidence that Gregg could see another player's hole cards or was using hole-card knowledge while playing on the network.

Gregg's WPN account was later closed on separate Game Integrity and risk-management grounds after the network considered broader information obtained during its investigation and through communication with other online poker operators. WPN has been clear that the account decision is separate from the hole-card finding.

WPN has also shared information with other online poker operators on how this type of ScreenShield protection can be implemented, with the aim of helping the wider industry evaluate similar player protections.
